Donald Abrams, P.A., President, CEO, is trained as a physician’s assistant, receiving his national certification in 1979. He practiced in the field of Orthopedics for 16 years prior to coming to Texas. Focusing on worker compensation assessment, his professional career turned towards the impairment rating process, experienced in contested case hearings and District Courts in Texas. He has lectured extensively in the impairment rating process and is certified as an instructor with the Designated Doctor program.
Brian C. Buck, M.D., Medical Director
Brian C. Buck, M.D., Medical Director, is a graduate of Austin College and The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Board Certified in Electro-Diagnostics. His practice encompasses workers compensation, as well as electro-diagnostics and neuromuscular disease. Brian Buck, M.D. has completed the Texas Medical Association course for Designated Doctors in Texas, and has served as an instructor in the training course for Designated Doctors. He continues to serve as a Designated Doctor for the Texas Department of Insurance. Buck, along with fellow colleague Obermiller, M.D., are the only Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Specialists to be named Super Doctors by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2010.
As Medical Director of Medical Equation, Inc., a position he shares with John Obermiller, M.D., Brian Buck, M.D. supervises medical staff and procedures.

John P. Obermiller, M.D., Medical Director
John P. Obermiller, M.D., graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree. He received his medical degree at Texas Tech University School of Medicine. John Obermiller, M.D. completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and is Board Certified by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
John Obermiller, M.D. co-founded Medical Equation, Inc. in 1995 and continues to serve as Medical Director and Senior Board Member. He also co-founded Texas Orthopedics Sports and Rehabilitation Associates in 1986 in Austin, Texas. He has been a Designated Doctor for the state of Texas since 1993 and is also certified as a Quality Medical Examiner for the state of California. He has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Health Science Center in San Antonio. He has been a team physician for local high schools and professional sports organizations with the Austin area for over 15 years. John Obermiller, M.D. is a veteran of the USMC. Obermiller, along with fellow colleague Buck, M.D., are the only Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Specialists to be named Super Doctors by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2010.

Peter M. Garcia, M.D., Associate Medical Director
Peter M. Garcia, M.D., graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and received his Doctorate in Medicine from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, and completed his military service at Ft. Hood, Texas. Peter Garcia, M.D. is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Garcia serves on the medical staff of most Austin area hospitals. Peter Garcia, M.D. has been in General Orthopedic practice in Austin since 1988. Peter Garcia, M.D. is a Designated Doctor for the state of Texas. He was voted a Super Doctor by Texas Monthly Magazine.
